This quote exemplifies why I began this blog, and the related yahoo group.
If you are paying attention to the world around you, you are probably already aware that things in our world are in a bit of a mess.
Some of you may know that there are, or may be, things going on “behind the scenes” to help change this.
Whether there are or not-we can still do a lot to create the change we want to see. If in fact we have backup and help from ET’s, spiritual beings, the ancestors, the Earth herself, other movements and groups of people in the everyday “real” world-the actions we take right now, every day MATTER.
Spiritual growth is good, in itself. It can lead to changing the world thru changing actions-but it has yet to be proven in any solid way that simply thinking positively, or working on one’s own “issues” and becoming a better person *by itself* creates a better world.
It would be really nice, it if it were that simple, wouldn’t it?
If there really were/are billions of spaceships full of spiritually evolved beings who have traversed the vastness of space just to come down here and fix all our problems-that would be fantastic wouldn’t it?
It would be, it could be! But-and this is a very big but-are we willing to gamble our lives, and the lives of all living beings on Earth on our hope that these things may be true?
Do I believe that prayer helps? that improving ourselves and paying attention to our issues and our behaviour helps? that groups of people working together to focus energy/thought/prayer on certain outcomes can affect them?
Certainly-Yes I do.
If we can put those aspects to work for us, *along with* physical actions such as creating LETS groups, Transition Towns, community gardens, protests against ALL war, corruption and co-optation of the people’s needs in pursuit of the greed and goals of the few-then maybe, with a bit of luck, and some magic, maybe we really can pull up before it is too late.
The facts are in front of us tho-we ARE already in the midst of the greatest extinction event that has ever occurred on planet Earth. We have trawlers the size of cities killing every living thing in the oceans-with assistance from the seemingly endless round of oil spills and garbage dumping etc. We have holes in our ozone layer, warming temperatures globally with all the unpredictable change that entails(see last few years of blizzards, floods, fires etc for evidence if you need any).
Every single body of surface water in the US is now polluted-women all over this continent have mercury in their breast milk-what is that doing for our next generation?
This isn’t about spreading fear-Fear is a choice of response not a lockstep thing that comes along with disappointing facts.
We can choose to be afraid, or choose to live in denial or fantasies-OR we can choose courage. We can choose to own the knowledge that WE really really ARE the ones we have been waiting for.
We can choose to say-this reality, these facts SUCK. We don’t like them, we don’t agree with them-and we will not allow them to continue.
This planet and all the living things that have supported our lives, our ancestors lives and everything that we know-do they not deserve a better response than fear or denial? Do they not deserve the very best, the strongest, most courageous and powerful response we can give on all levels?
Do not the coming generations, those children recently born, and those yet to come-do they not deserve better than a destroyed world and some pretty excuses about how we believed that help was on the way?

We may not all agree all the time but the new world isn’t going to build itself-and until some solid visible action is seen from the mythical set(ET’s, ascended masters, channeled beings etc) We are all we have so we might as well work together as much as we can.
