Spirit In Action

Change IS coming. WE can make it GOOD.

I had heard bits of this but this article is very good in putting a lot of things together. “Job creators” is such an oxymoron-if these idiots weren’t running things there would be lots more jobs-all they care about is making obscene levels of profit while shortchanging both customers AND workers. Glad I saw this before I went to Home Depot to buy any dirt or flowers this year!!

As you may note from what I have been posting I have been having pretty emotional reactions to all the violence lately(and implied violence ala US Civil War II). I have found personally that if I immediately take a positive action such as pray, meditate, post/share online, sign petitions etc the negative aspect of the feeling is replaced by a still intense but different feeling.
I cried when I saw the wonderful picture Laura posted earlier of the Israeli police shielding the Arab children with their bodies-it was partly the horror of children being in that situation but even more it was an unusual feeling of love, relief, solidarity/unity where I see and recognize the actions in another that come from this same place of Love, compassion and Unity and it draws out my emotions often in uncomfortable ways but not ,I think, in negative ways.
Another important thing to remember is whenever faced with negativity, or strong emotional reactions that seem intractable to our own efforts to redirect, we can always pray for help and receive it immediately.
When I was taught as a child that the elders/ancestors prayed all the time or all day I wondered why and how they could get anything done;-) I’m finally starting to understand what my Mom was telling me-in order to stay in the best frame of mind when faced with all sorts of challenges(which living in a colonized society presents us with constantly!) the only way to do it is to be in a state of constant prayer and inner awareness.
They were not as I was when very young, on my knees in front of a bank of candles in a church, but much more like the Shaolin priests who you see in old kung fu movies silently moving their lips in prayer or even holding the prayers beads in one hand while in the middle of a kung fu fight;-)
At a certain point it seems our entire life becomes a prayer, but then we are all the way awake.

Ellison’s complete statement:

I am deeply concerned about the latest outbreak of violence between Israelis and Palestinians in Gaza. I urge both sides to practice restraint and take immediate action to reduce hostilities. I have been to Sderot, Israel and the Gaza Strip, and conditions for ordinary people are horrific on both sides of the Gaza-Israel border. Israelis endure relentless rocket attacks fired at innocent Israeli citizens in violation of international law. At the same time, Gazans, 57% of whom are under 18, live in extreme isolation, limited access, and deprivation of nearly everything including food, building materials, and water. Combatants on both sides of the conflicts must begin to address the root causes of this conflict through a real peace process. Military escalation will not resolve this—just as the 2008-2009 conflict in Gaza did not end hostilities. I join Noam Shalit, the father of former Hamas prisoner and Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, in calling for talks between the parties to resolve this crisis. Talks in the past helped to secure the release of Gilad Shalit and thousands of Palestinian detainees. Dialogue and negotiation can help save lives now.

The time for violence is over. This year when people wish for Peace on Earth and goodwill to men, we may no longer be wishing in vain. Let’s make it happen! This is our planet, not the warmongers, there are a lot more of us than there are of them. Just make the decision inside, pray it, meditate it, speak about it to others-say no more war, no more violence, its done now, we have learned all we came to learn from it and we can let it go.
Don’t be afraid, you are not alone in wanting an end to violence-choosing peace is no longer a dangerous proposition subject to overthrow by those who love war. The majority of the Earth want peace, and we will have it-it is simply time now-can’t you FEEL it?

I like this guys point-the idea of solving things with violence-especially violence by the powerful against the(essentially) powerless is over. The world is watching and the people of Earth are no longer buying what the warmongers are selling no matter what the flavor(ie zionist, jihadist, capitalist/christian, etc). We know better.
Violence is a dead end road-you can never solve a disagreement by killing people because you can never kill ALL the people who disagree with you. All that violence does is inspire more violence, endlessly-a bad outcome no matter how you slice it!

This is what I have been trying to say-the PEOPLE are living in Love and compassion for one another it’s the leaders and the 1% who keep starting wars and creating more suffering. (Israeli soldiers shielding Arab kids with their bodies from rockets from Gaza.) what a beautiful picture! much thanks to Laura for finding and sharing this!!

Colonization is never different no matter the time period or the location. The exact same lies and genocide happen in the Americas, in the south Pacific, in Africa-the colonizer always claims benevolence, self defense etc but never admits to the very plain fact that they have invaded, oppressed and murdered, stolen land, destroyed livelihoods-it is always said to be the fault of the “savages” the poor colonizer has to put up with.
In the case of Israel the leaders are doubly lying because they lie to the Jewish people they recruit to come and colonize, to live in the settlements etc(just as was done with the poor Europeans who were recruited for the colonization of north america!) and in all cases the recruits and the colonized indigenous are USED against one another-endless suffering for the people, endless profits for the elites who engineer the whole nightmare.
It is time to DEMAND PEACE with one voice as the People of the Earth we say NO MORE WAR!
