Spirit In Action

Change IS coming. WE can make it GOOD.

Again thanks to Jean! This is wonderful as it has the video AND the transcript together so those like me who can’t see videos can get the info. It is also nice to see some external reassurance that feeling just sort of befuddled, not really uplifted or down doesn’t indicate having lost ones way. Trusting ones internal knowing is a lot easier when there is something coming thru to *know* than when feeling rather random and odd!

When I think of elders shivering in the cold in inadequate housing while Salazar and all like him live in such relative opulence, this deal seems very much more of the same. But I want to believe that we are indeed in the midst of the great changes that have been foretold by so many for so long. SO I will keep praying and giving thanks, living in gratitude for all the many blessings, while praying still for the alleviation of the suffering of all those who still suffer. I know as my Mom always tells me, Creator knows more than I do so I will be patient and grateful-but I will also look up and make a post very soon on the charities to donate to that help the elders(and others) on those insanely poor reservations out west where it gets absurdly cold and people have houses the wind comes in thru the cracks and not enough money for heating fuel. Please, if you pray, please join me in praying for all those who are in such harsh conditions that this token deal truly is the start of real change, and that even before that happens all they need will come to them thru whatever channels and angels Creator chooses to use for that purpose.

Random Act of Kindness – Heartwarming Photo of NYPD Officer Buying Boots for Homeless Man. Video.

I love seeing how people everywhere are opening from the heart and taking action to help others. Just imagine what our world will be like when everyone makes these kinds of choices all the time;-)

Motley News, Photos and Fun

nypd-facebook-boots-homeless cropped for thumbnailThis image below was loaded on to NYPD’s Facebook page recently from a photo taken in early November, and it has now gone viral. I just heard about it on the news this morning, but you may have already hear the story and seen the image. Regardless, it’s worth sharing.

Larry DePrimo, from the NYPD, saw a homeless man sitting on the sidewalk without shoes, nor socks, and apparently had blisters on his feet. DePrimo stopped and talked with the man for a while. In doing so, he found out the stranger wore a size 12, so the officer went into a nearby Sketchers shoe store and bought a pair of $100 boots for a little over $75, after the store gave a discount, as well as thermal socks.

Celebrate a global justice holiday today at the EF! Film Fest! in Lake Worth

I wonder if Lake Worth has grown, if it not the same FL town I am thinking of or if they just managed to have a really cool film fest in the boondocks? Either way it is great to be reminded of how far we have come in waking up the world and creating change. There were a lot of times when I felt like we were making no progress at all, but these days I am feeling a lot more positive about our future and about the growing awareness and activism of people all over the world. As Blackfire said in one of my favourite songs “It’s Never too late to Honour the Earth and the coming generations”!

Earth First! Newswire

WTO welcomingThirteen years ago today, a grassroots movement took to the streets of Seattle and shut the city down, effectively ruining the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) summit and turning the global tide against corporate rule. Four years later, we faced off with the one of the most well-funded police forces in the world in the streets of Miami to expose the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) summit.

This evening we will be celebrating these amazing events of Novembers past at the first annual Earth First! Film Fest, hosted by the EF! Journal Collective, with independent films from about the mobilizations in Miami and Seattle, along with other films on industrial globalization and its discontents.

As My World Turns

President Barack Obama is the target of more than 30 potential death threats a day and is being protected by an increasingly over-stretched Secret Service. He is the most threatened President in history.

Since the President took office in 2008, the rate of threats against the president has increased 400% cent. Some threats to the President have been publicized, including the well known alleged plot by white supremacists in Tennessee to rob a gun store, shoot 88 black people, decapitate another 14 and then assassinate the first black president in American history.

Most however, are kept under wraps because the Secret Service fears that revealing details of them would only increase the number of copycat attempts.

According to the U.S. Secret Service agents, their goal is to immediately respond to any direct threat against the president, the first…
