For all those who are working for “A world that works for everyone”, the golden age, new Earth etc even if you don’t consider yourself part of Deep Green Resistance, I urge you to read and share this article.
If everyone who opposes the current system of oppression, environmental destruction, mass murder, chemtrails, economic slavery and ever growing fascism could work together to stop it, it would end amazingly quickly.
When you awaken to the fact that we are all One, ahimsa in one’s own life is a natural first reaction. I believe Resistance to the system that is creating so much harm and destruction is the very natural logical next step.
It is hardly a coincidence that Green is the colour of the heart chakra-Deep Green Resistance is rooted in an overwhelming love for all living beings.

Joe Biden promotes shotguns for self-defense. Is he off base? (+video) – CSMonitor.com

WASHINGTON

Joe Biden is getting a lot of attention today for suggesting that homeowners interested in protecting themselves with firearms buy a shotgun instead of a semi-automatic assault rifle. Was his comment off base?

…Then he launched into his shotgun spiel. Kate, if you want to protect yourself, get a double-barreled shotgun, he said…

I just want to say that I love Joe Biden. If you want to hear straight talk without a lot of political dancing, ask an Irishman!

It is quite logical to want to prevent horrible things using guns and at the same time use them to defend your home. I grew up in a very Peace Activist household where the double barrel 12 and 20 guage were part of the family. My grandmother was a lifelong Democrat, peace activist etc but she was also an award winning sharpshooter who could shoot the home-rolled (ie really small) cigarrette out of my grandfather’s mouth a football field away with a .22 rifle, when he was late coming in for dinner.

I do not personally believe that President Obama wants gun control in order to get us all more easily herded into FEMA camps. Even if he were a tool of the Bilderberger set, the ONLY people the oppressive and fascist style government needs to imprison are the ones that are blocking what they consider “progress”-this almost ALWAYS has meant environmental and community activists, and intellectuals, and of course, minority and poor people.

If you can AFFORD an AR-15 and you aren’t a member of Earth First, or an inner city drug dealer/gun runner-they are NOT coming for you.

Fascists are business oriented, they love money! Keeping MOST people productive and spending money is the goal, not locking them up. They have already achieved their goals as far as imprisoning the threats to their control-the US has more prisoners per capita than ANY nation on Earth including China, North Korea and Iran.

Most of them are non-white males. A much higher percentage of political activists, especially environmental activists, are imprisoned than of any other group except non-white males.

Follow the money, see who benefits-politics is NOT rocket science.

Ideally, instead of being paranoid we just work together to CHANGE the problem-which is corporate control of government and then we don’t have to worry.

Anyway, I love Joe Biden.;-)

The Cooperative Way to a Stronger Economy by Sarah van Gelder – YES! Magazine

The Cooperative Way to a Stronger Economy

Co-opsjust like peoplecan get more done together than anyone can do alone. They come in many forms, and are more common than you might imagine.

Our little group of a dozen families was running out of time. After meeting every weekend for three years to plan our hoped-for cohousing community, and after investing much of our savings to acquire a few acres of land, it looked as though our dream would fail. We couldnt find a bank that would finance a cooperative.

Visit the table of contents for the Spring 2013 issue of YES! Magazine, How Cooperatives are Driving the New Economy.

It was our local credit union that saved us. Youre owned by your members? Whats
so odd about that? Were owned by our members, the president of the Kitsap Credit Union mused.

With that financing, we were able to build 30 affordable homes and a common house, and to make space available for gardens, an orchard, a playfield, and a tiny urban forest. In 1992, we moved into Winslow Cohousing, the first member-developed cohousing community in the United States.

Co-opsjust like peoplecan get more done together than anyone can do alone. The good news is that co-ops come in many forms and are more common than you might imagine. They are owned by workers, residents, consumers, farmers, craftspeople, the community, or any combination. What they have in common is that they circulate the benefits back to their member-owners, and these benefits ripple out to the broader community. As Marjorie Kelly explains, cooperative forms of ownership allow the well-being of people, the planet, and future generations to take priority over profits for shareholders and executives.

This is an exciting moment for cooperatives. A growing disillusionment with big banks and corporations is sparking interest in economic alternatives, and new opportunities are opening up:

The United Steelworkers and other unions are exploring worker-ownership as a means to assure stable, living-wage jobs that cant be outsourced to low-wage regions.

Communities seeking alternatives to profit-driven corporate health insurance are forming health care co-ops.

Hundreds of thousands of people who moved their money from Wall Street banks to local banks and credit unions now have a say in how their money is used.

Consumers are turning to co-ops like Equal Exchange for ethically produced goods, and Equal Exchange, in turn, supports co-ops made up of farmers and producers in some of the worlds poorest regions.

These cooperatives can be powerful forces for change. Vancity, Canadas largest credit union, targets its investments to local enter- prises that have positive impacts. It divested its holdings in Enbridge due to concerns about the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline. And it adopted a living wage policy that applies to its own employees and to service providers.

Cooperative structures can strengthen an economy. For example, Italys Emilia Romagna region, where about a third of the economy is cooperative and has far less inequality. Most people there can find living wage jobs, and quality of life is high.

Last year, Winslow Cohousing celebrated its 20th year, and the grown sons and daughters of the early members returned to share what it meant to them to grow up in a community, surrounded by love and support.

My hope? That many more children have the opportunity to grow up in cooperative spaces; that more adults get the respect and empowerment that comes from working in cooperatives and buying from co-ops; and that over time, diverse forms of democratic ownership displace predatory capitalism as the foundation for our economy.

The manuscript of survival – part 271 by Aisha North

The reason you might all feel a more than a little bit put out today is as always easy to explain. Once again the level of energetic downloads has been amped up, and you are literally being bathed in the forces of change. So yes, expect some rather interesting side effects as you once again are being pushed and pulled in every direction from all of this life-enhancing information that is being beamed into you. And once again you will feel how you are being almost prodded into reaction, as these energies will indeed not stop at anything in order for them to be completely assimilated by you.

This may sound a bit callous, but we say this in order to underscore the fact that even if the outfall from all of this energetic bombardement may be less than pleasant at times, it is always done with the best of intention. So yes, they are merciless at times, but they are also doing you a world of good, so again we say hang in there. Little comfort, we know, to all those of you beset by bouts of nausea, fatigue and maybe even sudden onsets of deep, deep sadness. But remember, they are indeed signals of advancement, and even if they are not pleasant during the actual insertion, these new codes will all help you become what you have been striving to be for so long.

Let us leave it at that for today. We think you will have less inclination to read today and more to rest, as it is indeed important to make sure you obey the wishes of your body whenever it is beset by all of these outside forces. After all, you are a great team, and you will get through all of this together and emerge at the other end victorious, shining and infinitely stronger than what you mayhaps feel like today. For this is just another revamping of your system, and one that will help you to explore even more of the hidden potential you carry within. So again we say stay calm and breathe deeply, and give yourself the time and care you need in order to make the most of this new information you are receiving. For just like your computer, you need to give your body space to better be able to reset all of its systems whenever a new program has been downloaded. So take this as a hint to stay centered and not to push yourself too much at the moment. Rather, it is a time for quiet comtemplation, and also for gratitude towards yourself. For you are constantly working so hard towards the goal of resurrecting yourself, and you are doing it bit by bit, piece by piece. So let us leave it at that for today, and give you all another reassuring pat on the back. For you are doing good, even at times like these when you feel less than perfect.

First Quarter Moon Phase – Moon in Cancer

Today is a day for spiritual warriors on a mission! We can break barriers and get things that aren’t flowing to move well. We can make real progress to clear up congestion or confusion or take down anything that is not in alignment with what is good, honest, and based on love and light. It is going to be hard to tolerate anyone or anything that is putting up an obstacle or barrier, anything that thrives in darkness, or anything that has had us on a roller coaster ride. The tide changes today in favor of what is good. So use the opportunity to strike out and rectify something. What needs to be fixed? Our emotions will tell us today.

Arctic sea ice volume now one-fifth its 1979 level

By Dr. Jeff Masters

Published: 2:52 AM GMT on February 19, 2013
The stunning loss of Arctic sea ice extent in recent years is undeniable–satellite measurements have conclusively shown that half of the Arctic sea ice went missing in September 2012, compared to the average September during 1979 – 2000. But the extent of ice cover is not the best measure of how the fire raging in Earth’s attic is affecting sea ice–the total volume of the ice is more important. But up until 2010, we didn’t have the measurements needed to say how the total volume of ice in the Arctic might be changing. Scientists relied on the University of Washington PIOMAS model, which suggested that the loss of Arctic sea ice volume during September might be approaching 75% – 80%. The model results were widely criticized by climate change skeptics as being unrealistic. However, in April 2010, a new satellite called Cryostat-2 was launched, which can measure ice volume by beaming pulses of microwave energy off of the ice. With two years of data to Cryosat-2 data to analyze, the results of the PIOMAS model have now been confirmed by a study published on-line in February 2013 in Geophysical Research Letters. In a University of Washington news release, co-author Axel Schweiger said, “people had argued that 75 to 80 percent ice volume loss was too aggressive. What this new paper shows is that our ice loss estimates may have been too conservative, and that the recent decline is possibly more rapid.” The U.K.’s Natural Environmental Research Council reported that the team of scientists found that from 2003 to 2012, the volume of Arctic sea ice declined 36% in the autumn and 9% in the winter. The measure of sea ice volume is a good indicator of how the Arctic’s most stable, “multi-year” ice is fairing. As the multi-year ice declines, sea ice extent, the total area covered by sea ice, in an “Arctic death spiral”. The new study shows that thick, multi-year ice has disappeared in areas north of Greenland, around the Canadian Archipelago, and to the northeast of Svalbard, Norway.

Why care about Arctic sea ice loss?
If you remove an area of sea ice 43% the size of the contiguous U.S. from the ocean, like occurred in September 2012, it is guaranteed to have a significant impact on weather and climate. The extra heat and moisture added to the atmosphere as a result of all that open water over the pole may already be altering jet stream patterns in fall and winter, bringing an increase in extreme weather events. The record sea ice loss in 2012 also contributed to an unprecedented melting event in Greenland. Continued sea ice loss will further increase melting from Greenland, contributing to sea level rise and storm surge damages. Sea ice loss will also continue to crank up the thermostat over Arctic permafrost regions. This will potentially release a significant fraction of the vast amounts of carbon currently locked in the permafrost, further accelerating global warming.

Wunderground has long been one of my favourite web sites because their weather forecasting and discussions are accurate, detailed and easy to understand making it easy to not only find out what to wear tomorrow, or whether to board up the windows, but to learn how weather works and how it is predicted.

Far from the nonsense I’ve been seeing posted lately in regard to the effects of climate change, it has not gone way or somehow magically transformed into something sweet gentle and happy.

It is following the most radical and frightening predictions from the early 90’s almost to the letter.

Living in fantasy can sometimes be no big deal, but in this case it is the worst possible reaction. Ok, the second worst possible reaction as chemtrails have to be the absolute dumbest reaction imaginable. (if they are even really designed to have anything to do with AGW!)

If we come together to solve first the problem of runaway emissions, and then second the problems resulting from this and adding to it such as deforestation, formerly fertile cropland facing desertification, rising seas, changing rainfall and storm patterns and their effects on agriculture and human settlements as well as ecosystems and other living things, then we can mitigate the effects on ourselves and future generations and make the shift from the carbon heavy non-sustainable economies we now have to sustainable *healthy* economies with the least suffering and loss of life for all.

I find it incredibly sad and frustrating to see good hearted people who want to make the world better doing the work of the 1% in convincing others that the disinfo campaign against both this issue and the Un tool for encouraging sustainability Agenda21 are Satanic lies and control structures.

Sure they and ANYTHING else can be twisted distorted and USED in that way. But problems do not get solved by sitting around in fantasyland telling tall tales. They get solved by coming together and using our God given intelligence and creativity to SOLVE them as thousands of people did to create Agenda21 and many more are trying to do to solve the myriad problems arising from the increasing temperature and all the feedbacks from it.

Meditating and praying are useful and beautiful, and they can help us resolvc our problems, but they are not solutions *by themselves*. Neither is talking, writing and posting and sharing things online, even those too can be useful tools.

I wish that people could just come together and work together to solve the problems instead of endlessly fighting over nonsense.

When I was a child it was inconceivable that the Earth would ever not have “ice caps” on BOTH ends.

Now there are shipping lanes forming thru the former northern ice cap area and the oil barons are fighting tooth and nail to be the first to turn our north pole black with leaking oil instead of white with the disappearing ice that once seemed forever……
