I just got this in email and wanted to let you all know about it. Indigenous people all over the world are facing this same sort of idiocy-the colonizers want their land, their resources, the PROFITS that can be made from them, so the people are kicked out, their ancestral homelands they have in some cases lived in for tens of thousands of years are stolen and the people end up in poverty, dying in shantytowns outside of overpopulated cities like Lagos, or Mumbai, or Detroit.
Indigenous people have been under attack from the colonizers for literally thousands of years now, there are not enough left to win the fight for surival alone. If everyone stands together tho, we can stop this tide of destruction in the name of Profit-whether it is the Tar sands in Canada, the Uranium in Navajo territory, or the big game safari hunt in Maasai Tanzania-it all the SAME colonizer game and they HAVE to lose for the Earth and all living beings to win.
Colonization is just Piracy in a BIG way-it is criminal to steal people’s homes but it has gone on for so long the colonizers think their crimes will always pay. If we join together we can return our Earth to Peace and Justice and put the criminals in jail where they belong instead of in mansions sipping champagne while people starve thanks to their crimes.
Many people may not know this but after 9-11 the Maasai people sent cows to the people of New York to show their caring about what had happened to them, because cows are central to Maasai life-the most valuable thing. To many in colonized society the most valuable thing is our time, so let’s show the Maasai we are standing with them too by taking the time to sign this.

We are elders of the Maasai from Tanzania, one of Africa’s oldest tribes. The government has just announced that it plans to kick thousands of our families off our lands so that wealthy tourists can use them to shoot more lions and leopards. The evictions are to begin immediately.
Last year, when word first leaked about this plan, almost one million Avaaz members rallied to our aid. Your attention and the storm it created forced the government to deny the plan, and set them back months. But the President has waited for international attention to die down, and now he’s revived his plan to take our land. We need your help again urgently.
President Kikwete may not care about us, but he’s shown he’ll respond to global pressure — to all of you! If you send messages to Tanzanian embassies across the globe, Kikwete will hear a barrage of reports that his latest land grab is reverberating around the world. This is our only chance to get him to back down from destroying our way of life.
