THE GRAND WATER TRINE we’ve been talking about recently is at its strongest this week. And, true to the easy-going nature of trines, I am finding it difficult to discipline myself to write the journal this morning! That sunshine outside is looking especially inviting…

Trines, and especially grand trines, are an easy flow of energy. The planets involved are working in harmony. This means they do not push us to take action, but they provide support if we choose to act.

THIS TRINE is much different energy than the Pluto-Uranus square we’ve been working with so much lately. Square aspects create a tension that we cannot ignore, that we must respond to, even if just to find a way to release the stress.

With a trine, without the push from the planets, we can tend to lie back in our hammocks and just enjoy the moment. This, of course, can be as important to our growth and development as charging ahead, especially if we’ve been going through a lot of changes lately.

WE HAVE OPTIONS for how we use this trine influence, all equally valid. We can take this week to find some much-needed relaxation, taking a break from the pressures of life. Or, we can use the grand trine as a springboard for further growth. Either way, the opportunity is one to take advantage of, since these configurations do not come along all that often.

And, knowing that in just a few weeks we will again be working in earnest with the Pluto-Uranus square, it may be that this time is well used in self-nurturing and rejuvenation. That appears to be the option that is getting my vote, at least at this moment!

URANUS changes direction on Wednesday, which means our planet of liberation and rebellion is especially strong this week. If you are currently working with a personal transit from Uranus, this may be the time when you finally make a breakthrough, or have the courage to break free from something that has been feeling restrictive or inauthentic.

For all of us, restlessness is increased, especially when it comes to those things we “have” to do, rather than “want” to do. All things considered, between the influences of the grand trine and Uranus, it would be a very good week to go on vacation.

ON THE OTHER HAND, we also have the signpost that reads, “Don’t miss this opportunity!” If we are interested in emotional and spiritual growth, expanding our sphere of influence, and bringing a vision into form, this week offers potentials like few others.

There are four planets involved in our grand trine — Neptune in Pisces, Saturn in Scorpio, and Jupiter and Mars in Cancer — and each brings its gifts for us to utilize. Neptune increases our creative and spiritual vision; Saturn supplies discipline, practicality and focus; Jupiter provides optimism, inspiration and enthusiasm; and Mars brings courage and confidence.

And all of these planets are working together in harmony, providing significant support for our forward motion and greater comprehension of universal truths, if we choose to take advantage.

Whether we decide to take long naps or spend extra time in meditation and creative endeavors this week, may we each find great reward through these planetary energies, in both seen and unseen ways…

First Quarter Moon Phase: Moon in Libra

Ruling Mahavidya: Dhumavati

LISTEN TO RECORDING 7-9-2013 – Ruling Mahavidya: Dhumavati

Remember this picture? Today we will have to practice the shamanic skill of being like a wise old owl in a tree peering out at the world. This picture reminds us that sometimes we need to even become the tree! Today’s energy is very, very intense and we will want to make sure we are buffered from the effects.

Mars is moving up right behind the Black Moon all this week. This tend to make us angry. Mars will conjunct the Black Moon on Friday, the day Mercury stations direct (appears to move forward once again in the sky), builds toward conjunction with Jupiter on July 21 and opposition with Pluto on July 27. The window of time between now and July 27 shows war, aggression, rage, and violence.

However, not to fear, underdog is here. Not exactly, but the Mahavidyas (Wisdom Goddess aspects of the divine being embodied as out planet – Sophia) are taking this opportunity to bend and twist the power out of negative forces (throwing off the dominance of mind parasites who intrude on our sovereignty – Archons). We’re the underdog and the underdog is rising. So while we see dramatic manifestation of the Mars/ Black Moon/ Jupiter/ Pluto energy all around us (through arguments, conflict, aggression between people and in the world at large), remember that this same energy is also what is taking down systems of slavery, particularly slavery of the mind.

With these astrological aspects in play all week, we will be tempted to speak out of turn, speak before we think, react from emotion, and become angry at people who we feel are not supportive or doing their part. If you feel this happening to yourself, stop and receive instruction from at least one of the four Mahavidyas who are working this month: Bagalamukhi, Dhumavati, Bhairavi, or Shodashi. Take the conversation inside yourself before you deliver it outside of yourself. In other words, let the goddesses teach you before you try to speak your mind to someone. Any and all serious conversation about significant life events should wait until after Friday. That may be a tall order, but anything else is a false start and will not work out well.

School is in session this week. Let’s learn a little more before we take a direction with anything.
