Sen Tester Kills Monsanto Protection Rider
by Karen from Maui Sep 25, 2013 12:06pm PDT
Despite the efforts of House members like Rep Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) to kill the Monsanto Protection Rider, it passed in the House version of the short-term appropriations bill, the Continuing Resolution (CR).

Today the Senate was successful in stripping this provision out of the CR.

According to Sen Brian Schatz (D-HI)

“The Monsanto Protection Act is bad policy for the country and the State of Hawai‘i. The Senate version of the Continuing Resolution does not include this provision, effectively repealing the Monsanto Protection Act. This provision took the ability of the Secretary of Agriculture to fully exercise his regulatory power over GMOs, and compromised the role of our courts as a check on the legislative and executive systems, making it significantly more difficult for concerned citizens to present their case.
I strongly urge the House not to sneak the Monsanto Protection Act back into the final version of the appropriations bill. However, if it is slipped back in, rather than letting the issue be deliberated with full transparency and public input, I will immediately introduce legislation to repeal it.”

Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT), a farmer himself said:
Stripping the Monsanto Protection Act is a victory for American consumers and family farm agriculture. Corporate giveaways have no business in a bill to fund the government, and I’m pleased that the Senate stood up for accountability and transparency and against special interests. I look forward to continuing to work with Senator Schatz to make sure that this damaging provision never again makes it into law.”
Hawai’i has been called “ground zero” for GMO/Agricultural Chemicals development. Its mild climate allows two growing seasons and its small legislature is easily bought out. In fact only 10 members of the Hawai’i legislature are notrecipients of GMO/Chem money.
The GMO seed companies such as Monsanto, Syngenta, Bayer, and Dupont are the biggest agricultural chemical manufacturers. Their controversial claims of GMO seeds cutting down on pesticides are exactly opposite of reality. According to Organic Consumers herbicides account for about one-third of the global pesticide market, and around 80% of GM seeds involve herbicide-resistance.

Agriculture chemicals have poisoned aquifers on Oahuand Maui.

Kaua’i now has a bill pending that would require companies like Syngenta to disclose what pesticides they are spraying. Kaua’i residents are concerned not only with existing EPA registered pesticides but the experiments with the unregistered pesticides these GMO companies are developing.

4 Pillars of Sovereignty

I really appreciate and concur with this post and want to share it with you all-but with one caveat.
As a person who worked to get Agenda 21adopted I cannot concur with it being listed as a problem. The exact process the author suggests in this post was usef to create it. People in 67 countries spent countless hours meeting in dmall groups of concerned citizens to first work out a plan for helping humanity move to sustainability and long term survival from greed and selfish exploitation of the Earth and other living beings including other humans.
Much care was taken to make the plan respectful and positive for ALL stakeholders. It is nonbinding and after re-reading the full text on the UN site I cannot find a single one of the things people accuse it of.
The “problem” wuth Agenda 21 is that it encourages RESPECT for all living beings-including women, children, indigenous people, animals, ecosystems etc and that really ticks off reactionaries, control freaks and other selfish ( sservice to self) types.
If a local government is doing something corrupt and blaming Agenda 21-that is still *corruption* not Agenda 21. Tearing down the hard work of others who also want a better world is divisive and slows progress toward the better world we ALL want and need.
We need a framework for sustainability and even though Agenda 21 is imperfect it took years of hard work to create so modifying the pieces that don’t work well, and cleaning up the corruption that is the REAL problem would make so much more sense. The people behind the campaign against Agenda 21-thr koch brothers and the john birch society are obviously not interested in a world that works for everyone. So rather than being divided by their smokescreen on this I suggest people actually read the thing and see if those caring citizens in 67 countries didn’t actually create something SO GOOD and useful that the cabal desperately wants us to fight over it rather than gain the benefits of working together.
Anything created with that much LOVE, imho, simply cannot be designed to do evil.

Thank you, Laura!

SaLuSa by Multidimensional Ocean 27 Sept 2013
Many of you now feel at a loss with the change of seasons, especially in the Northern hemisphere. The mood is going down with the loss of sunshine and the increasing amount of rain. The children going back to school and the resuming of the school term routine is adding on to this. Furthermore the negative news promoted by your media is not helping you… mood lift.

The manuscript of survival – part 359

Thank you, Aisha! So comforting to read I am not the only one still sort of drowning in challenges when everyone else had moved on to lighter and brighter world.

You have come a long way dear ones, and already, you have put an indelible mark on this beautiful planet of yours. You have made a huge difference, and you will continue to do so, for you are not only the wayshowers, you are also the bringers of light in every aspect. We know that this will not be news to any of you, but it bears repeating, as you have mayhaps lost a little track of all of this in the midst of all of the personal challenges so many of you have been facing lately. For you are nothing short of Masters, as we have already told you, and what you help to bring in, is nothing short of miraculous. And already, the traces of light are starting to become more and more apparent on all sides. It is as if you have changed the tune completely, and…

Third Quarter Moon Phase: realignment, revision, responsibility

Moon: Cancer

Ruling Mahavidya: Shodashi (with Matangi)

There are several things happening today:

Venus finally makes the exact square with Mars. This energy has been building for over a week and brings turns, changes, and shifts in relationships. It’s Scorpio-Leo energy, which is intense, fiery, assertive, often deep and dark, but ultimately shines light. Events, situations, and circumstances in relationships that have transpired since last Friday (9/20/13) are pivotal and anything dramatic (Leo) should be scrutinized (Scorpio).
The Moon is in Cancer and is approaching a square to Uranus, opposition to Pluto, and then conjunction with the Black Moon. Whoa! Everyone’s shadow side (core fear) is heightened to some degree today. Things happen unexpectedly, quickly, and surprisingly. Issues, feelings, and themes related to needs and neediness and how well one is supported (self-supported and supported by others) continue. We are more emotional while the Moon is in Cancer, but with the addition of these other planets in the mix, it can go too far. Keep it real, grounded, and respectful. This is strong energy for all of us to navigate, but let me sound a warning to Cancers, Capricorns, and those with the Black Moon in Cancer or Capricorn. This is one of your “labor pain” times that I’ve mentioned. The Moon will be in Cancer until about 5:00 EDT/9:00 am UTC Sunday, September 29, 2013, so remember that you are in a process of rebirth.
You may feel directed down an new path, perhaps one that you hadn’t thought of or thought only existed in your wildest dreams. To get to this point, you’ve had to “blow out” your mind or reach beyond your comfort zone. It’s really important to think big today. No limits and no restrictions, just blind faith. Trust in the knowledge that the Wisdom Goddess Shodashi is rewriting your life lines. There’s nothing wrong with basking in the light of Shodashi. In fact, it’s an opportunity you don’t want to miss. Her energy is pretty sublime.
Can you find beauty and love of all life in the frenzy today? Unlike the movie, when we unplug or unjack from the matrix, we have beauty and an abundance of life all around us – not a gray, dingy, inorganic prison. Don’t be fooled that it is otherwise.
