Thank you for posting this. This issue has long been a central focus of the spiritually focused wing of the antiglobalization/antifascism movement. When the people of Cochabamba Bolivia protested enough to force their government to withdraw from a contract with Bechtel corporation to privatize their water it was thev’shot heard round the world’; the opening of what is likely the most important fight the people of Earth must win. I love that the rune you posted relates to both water and laughter. One of my favourite counters to the sadness of one part of humanity seeking to destroy all life in order to profit financially is the movie Tank Girl. It addressed this serious issue very humorously as the unstoppable Lori Petty refuses to acknowledge the corporate ownership of water in a post apocalyptic Australia.
Some recent water stories for your consideration:
“Collecting rainwater now illegal in many states as Big Government claims ownership over our water.” That headline actually ran in July 2010 on Natural News in an article that details how diverting rainwater from your roof is severely restricted in many Western States. What I found most interesting, especially in light of the video I posted yesterday was this little tidbit about Utah:
“After constructing a large rainwater collection system at his new dealership to use for washing new cars, Miller found out that the project was actually an ‘unlawful diversion of rainwater.’ Even though it makes logical conservation sense to collect rainwater for this type of use since rain is scarce in Utah, it’s still considered a violation of water rights which apparently belong exclusively to Utah’s various government bodies.
